I pulled out that awesome Simon Says Stamp magnolia branch 3D embossing folder again! This time I created a mixed media background by ink smooshing some distress inks and adding some white paint splatters. After I embossed the flowers, I highlighted them with platinum brilliance ink to make them stand out from the background and add a bit of shimmer.
Supplies and Tools:
- Magnolia Branches 3D Embossing Folder (Simon Says Stamp)
- Script Words Dies (Altenew)
- Dream Big Stamp and Die Set
- Linear Crossroads Die
- Platinum Brilliance ink (Tsukineko)
- Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink
- White Acrylic Paint
- These colors of Distress Ink (Ranger):
- Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord

Oh wow the colors are gorgeous in the background and I like the way you highlighted the flowers and grounding the sentiment and lovely butterfly!
This is gorgeous. I love the texture . The choice of colors and depth of them look lovely. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece with us at Try It on Tuesday. Hugs-Erika
I don’t know how I didn’t this beauty. The colors and texture of the background is marvelous. I’m sure I would end up with a muddy mess. But I’m going to try this anyway. I’ll need to look into what the difference is between and regular embossing folder and a 3D embossing folder. I love the die cut pieces and of course the main attraction, the butterfly.
Ohhh I love the idea of adding Brilliance ink over the inky embossing. Such a fabulous result! Hugs, Autumn
