Watermelon Cards

Today I'm sharing two cards that use Graciellie Designs' "Happiness" digital stamp set. I just love this fun set with the jar of watermelon juice and a whole assortment of fun sentiments!

To create this first card I:
  • created my watermellon background using distress inks
    • Mowed Lawn/Pine Needles for the rine
    • Picked Raspberry/Abandoned Coral/ Fired Brick for the melon
    • Picket Fence Distress Stain for the white strip
    • added seeds with a Black Sharpie
  • printed my watermelon juice and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils
    • pressed versamark watermark ink over top and added Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel
    • Heat Set and repeated the UTEE layer
    • tied a piece of black/white Baker's Twine around my jar
  • die cut the sentiment using Momenta Word Dies
  • added a few sequins

My second card features one of the sentiments from this set and includes a fun Color Burst Background!

For this card I:
  • tapped out some Lime Green and Alizarin Crimson Color Burst powder onto my watercolor paper, spritzed it with water and heat set
  • printed the jar of watermelon juice all over the paper in a random pattern

Next I:
  • printed one of the sentiments from the set on white card stock
  • die cut with a tag die
  • matted it on black card stock
  • added a baker's twine bow and three tiny punched hearts across the bottom

Both cards are absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! I just love that watermelon background that you created with distress inks. You have colored that mason jar image so perfectly. Featuring the sentiment and having the mason jar image on the second was a great idea. The background is stunning on that one too. Thanks for playing along with us at Time Out Food And Drink Theme Challenge!
